FIREFIGHTER SHOW IS COMING BACK!
The Fair welcomes back the Firefighter Show this year, offering kids the chance to see what it takes to be a firefighter! Shows will be Tuesday, August 22, through Saturday, August 26, with three shows daily taking place on the children’s stage area near the Fair office. Kids in the audience will be selected as volunteers! After being fitted in firefighter jacket and helmet, the new trainees are introduced to the audience as their next generation of heroes. When the alarm tones sound calling Engine One to duty, it’s all hands on deck!
2017 COUNTRY SHOWDOWN
Five local bands will compete for cash prizes on WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 23, 2017. Contestants will be judged on technical performance, originality of songs, professionalism, stage presence, vocals and audience reaction. Open to all Country Music Bands with residents within a 100 mile radius of the Emmet County Fairgrounds. $1500 First Place Prize!
MONSTER TRUCKS ARE BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND!
The Michigan Monster Truck Shoot Out roars back to the Fair on FRIDAY, AUGUST 25. You’ll see high-flying, car-crushing competition by machines like Ballistic, Predator and Prowler, plus Rap Attack and other big, bad trucks! There’s also a special performance by the MiniMonsters. POSTER CONTEST NEW FOR 2017! The Monster Truck Show at the Emmet-Charlevoix County Fair is already a big hit with kids each year, and this year they have even more reason to look forward to the show!
