Ever wanted to own your own island? Well there’s one — complete with its own private lodge — up for auction in northern Michigan.

Bidding is underway for the 46-acre Brown Island property on Grand Lake, which is in Presque Isle, 20 miles north of Alpena.

The sale includes a 3,000-square-foot private lodge, two 16-by-20-foot heated cabins, a 30-by-40-foot pole barn, 100,000-pound barge, 28-foot pontoon boat, 50-feet of waterfront access on the mainland and furniture.

The lodge features a commercial grade kitchen and electricity that’s provided by the mainland.

The high bidder also has the option to purchase two additional properties in Presque Isle if desired.

The first is 10.75 acres located at 9515 Lake St. with a 30-by-40 foot pole barn. It’s available for $150,000.

The second additional property is located at 9198 East Grand Lake Road. It includes 0.77 acres with 144 feet of lakefront property. This property has two cottages and is available for $350,000.

There are nearby trails to check out the wildlife, which includes deer, wild turkey and bald eagles.

Bidding for the property started at $250,000 at Lastbidrealestate.com. Nine bids have been made as of noon Tuesday. The current high bid is $305,000. Bidding ends at 7 p.m. Thursday.
