Winter Sports Park Petoskey Michigan
The Department of Parks and Recreation staff members welcome you to the Winter Sports Park. The Winter Sports Park provides a community venue for many popular winter recreational activities. For your safety please observe all rules and regulations
Included within the park are designated areas for sledding, ice skating, hockey, curling and skiing or snowboarding. Eight free high quality ice “scooters” are available to assist those that need some help learning how to ice skate. There is a limited supply of sleds for use if you do not have your own.
The park features a wonderful warming house. Complete a with fireplace, concession stand (candy, pop, water, hot chocolate, hot dogs, popcorn, pretzels, etc) drinking fountain, free wireless Internet access, a large HDTV, and restrooms. Board games are available to checkout and weather permitting, a campfire area is available on the weekends. The park typically opens in late December and closes in mid March. During the summer months the Winter Sports Park is utilized for Kid’s Camp and Tee Ball. There are also three basketball hoops for informal play.
SCHOOL GROUPS/HOCKEY RINK RENTALS:
School Groups may schedule special use of the park. Private Groups may also reserve the Hockey Rink in one-hour increments at $25/hour. All group requests must be scheduled at the Department of Parks and Recreation at 231-347-2500 or Send an E-mail request for availability.

EVENTS/LESSONS:
Ice skating lessons are offered in January, you may register online at http://petoskey.recdesk.com/recdeskportal/ or call for more information. Skiing & snowboarding lessons are also offered with cooperation from Nub’s Nob. The Winter Carnival is held annually the Saturday prior to President’s Day, weather permitting. The Petoskey Speed Skating Club & the Petoskey Curling Club host events as well.
